Itching to get out of town for the day, we decided to go on a bike ride, hoping to see the changing aspens. While we were about a week or two too early for peak color, the day was perfect. A slight chill in the morning, clear blue skies, and light path traffic.
We parked in Frisco by the marina, the path was easy to find from the parking lot. The path is about 19 miles out and back (about 10 miles each way) with about a 1,000 elevation gain with a slow and steady increase in elevation going to Breckenridge. Being out of shape, “Wags” rode a bit slower and enjoyed the fresh air.
In Breckenridge we had brunch at BreakFast, where “Wags” had the Park Avenue vegan wrap and “Rose” had the Main Street burrito. In Breckenridge slightly off-season not many places were open, while BreakFast was, it took about 30 minutes to get our food, something they should have disclosed when ordering. We got a table outside and enjoyed the break before we got back on our bikes for the final easy ride downhill to Frisco.
The return trip was extra enjoyable. Aside from the sun starting to come out and warm us up, there was no need to peddle for miles.
