Record Breaking Football Game

When we planned a long weekend trip to New Orleans, we didn’t check the football schedule, but we lucked out – the Saints were in town while we were there. Sweet D started to play Fantasy Football about 6 years ago, and Drew Brees was her Quarterback, since then she has enjoyed watching him and was excited to see him play in person.

We walked from our hotel to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and was amazed with the pre-game party between the gate entrance and the entrance to the stadium. The area was packed with fans dancing to the live music and drinking & eating. The energy really helped get us more excited for the game.

The weather was iffy, a little chilly and a light drizzle, but what better place to enjoy football in December than a covered arena? The only downside was that it was incredibly loud.

Not only did we luck out getting tickets to the game at the last minute, but we were fortunate to be in the stadium when Drew Brees became the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdown passes during the game against the Indianapolis Colts ( 34-7).

Prior to this game, Payton Manning retired in 2015 with 539 touchdown passes and Tom Brady was currently at 538 touchdown passes. The roar to congratulate Drew from the crowd was incredible.
