Mother’s Day Blind Tea Tasting

posted in: Fun & Games | 1

This year I had to get creative since all of us were celebrating Mother’s Day remote. I am no stranger to participating online or by photo for family events since I don’t live near my family, but having everyone remote is new.

Our first activity was to create a story/poem for mom with words being presents. She would read a story and when prompted, find the gift with the number and open it to find the word to fill in the blank within the story. Mom loved this!

We took a short break for part two, a blind tea tasting that I prepared. Mom and sisters drink black tea, but I thought…maybe they would like more but don’t know it. I had 12 decaf teas which I prepared by covering the tea label, putting a letter on it, and sticking to a piece of cardboard for shipping. I created a tasting sheet asking about aroma, flavor, description and overall rating.

This activity ended up being so much fun! We all took sips at the same time, completed our sheet, and shared our answers. We got to see faces of delight or of disgust.
